Terms & Conditions

By creating an account, renting a vehicle, or booking a driver on the Rentiva app or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before finalizing any transaction.

1. User Registration & Eligibility

To use Rentiva, you must register a customer account. You agree to provide current and accurate registration information. Account activation requires a verification code sent to your registered email address. You must keep your credentials secure; you are fully responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. Driver License & Verification Requirements

If you choose a "Car Only" (Self-drive) booking, the following conditions apply:

• You must hold a valid, clean driver's license recognized under Ghanaian traffic laws.
• You are required to upload a clear photograph of your physical license to your profile.
• Rentiva reserves the right to cancel any reservation if your uploaded license is expired, illegible, or is determined to be fraudulent.

3. Booking Holds & Checkout Rules

When you configure a vehicle or driver booking and click checkout, the app sets a temporary pending reservation. The vehicle and chauffeur remain held in your name for 30 minutes to allow payment completion. If the payment confirmation from Paystack is not received by our server within this 30-minute window, the booking is automatically cancelled and the assets are released for other users.

4. Payments & Financial Transactions

All prices and payments on Rentiva are in Ghanaian Cedis (GHS / GH₵). Transactions are securely processed through Paystack. You represent that you are authorized to use the chosen payment source (Mobile Money account or credit/debit card). Rentiva is not responsible for transaction declines, operator network errors, or Paystack system downtime.

5. Chauffeur Booking Regulations

If you book a "Car + Driver" or "Driver Only" service:

• The standard driver assignment covers up to 10 hours of active driving per calendar day.
• Long-distance travel (outside the greater Accra & Tema boundaries) must be coordinated in advance. Additional fees for fuel, driver lodging, and allowances will apply.
• For "Driver Only" rentals, you must provide a fully roadworthy, registered vehicle with valid comprehensive insurance coverage. The driver is not responsible for mechanical wear and tear.

6. Vehicle Usage & Prohibited Activities

For all self-drive rentals, you agree that the vehicle will not be used:

• By any person not registered and verified on the booking.
• For carrying passengers or cargo for hire (commercial passenger operations).
• Off-road, on unpaved terrain, or for racing/towing other vehicles.
• To transport illegal substances, dangerous goods, or in violation of Ghanaian laws.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rentiva, its fleet owners, and affiliate drivers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from vehicle mechanical failure, driver delay, or loss of personal items during a rental period.
