Welcome to Rentiva. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and process your information when you use our mobile and web applications (collectively, the "Service") operating in Ghana.

1. Information We Collect

To provide a seamless car rental and chauffeur service, we collect the following categories of information:

Account Details: Your name, email address, password, and telephone number when you register an account. Registration is authenticated and managed securely via Supabase Auth.
Verification Data: For self-drive reservations, we require your driver's license number, expiration date, and a uploaded photo of the license. These files are stored securely in Supabase Storage.
Emergency Information: Emergency contact name, relationship, and phone number, which is only accessed in case of vehicle incidents.
Payment Transactions: All financial transactions are processed by Paystack, our secure payment gateway partner. Rentiva does not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or mobile money PINs on our servers.
Location Information: Preferred pickup locations, drop-off routes, and instructions that you supply during the checkout wizard.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal information under the following grounds:

To establish your user account and verify your email via secure codes.
To confirm your eligibility to drive through license validation.
To verify booking availability, coordinate chauffeur scheduling, and secure checkouts.
To compile statistical fleet utilization analytics for business operations.
To send transactional emails, booking notifications, and payment receipts.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your passwords and confidential records are hashed. We store database information in PostgreSQL and binary uploads in Supabase Storage. We implement appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial safeguards to protect your personal data from unauthorized access or disclosure.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Integrations

We share specific transaction details only with third-party service providers essential to running Rentiva:

Paystack: To verify checkouts and secure mobile money or card payments.
Supabase Auth & Database: For user onboarding verification, database rows, and license upload compliance.
SMTP Server: To dispatch automated booking receipts.

We do not sell, rent, or lease customer lists to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Your Rights & Controls

You can view and edit your profile details (phone number, license info, emergency contacts) directly within the profile settings in the app. If you wish to delete your account or have questions about your stored data, please contact our support team at support@rentiva.com.gh.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational changes or legislative requirements in Ghana. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
